Back in the pool for Warringah Carnival ‘22 after 2 years away

How good was it to have a carnival after two years of COVID dislocation? Great turnout with 198 registered swimmers. All went pretty smoothly with only minor hold ups.

Thanks to all the officials and volunteers and timekeepers [including family and friends] who kept the show on the road, in particular our Meet Director, Julia Atkins, and Social Director Christine Geftakis who organised our traditional spread of savouries, treats and drinks at the Baseball Clubhouse.

Excitement for the Medley Shootout: all the finalists were from North Shore Masters: Bec Sheppherd 1st, Natalie Sparks 2nd; Daniel Jones 1st, Brandon Fraser 2nd.

Our wonderful 360+ Mixed medley team after establishing a record for the 4x25 medley relay: John Pagden, Diana Moore, Liz Wallis and Max van Gelder. John, Liz and Max all members of Warringah in its foundation years some 40 years ago.

In the relays, Warringah fielded a 360+ Mixed Medley team for which no record existed ... well done Liz Wallis, Diana Moore, Max van Gelder and John Pagden (who got the short straw to do fly!). Liz, Max and John were Warringah members in its foundation years going back to 1982. Liz also set provisional records for 100 back, 50 back and 25 back.
Manly won the Visitors Cup with 1126 points while the compact but high performing North Shore team came in 3rd with 790 points.
Well done all, and hope to see you all next year!
